Solar Storm: 'Pink' colored light seen in the sky of Canada, there was chaos among the people, know what happened after all?
Solar Storm: Solar storms can cause radio blackouts, satellite and power grid problems on Earth. However, when solar storms hit Earth from the sun, these problems appear. But if a light storm hits the Earth, it causes bright colored lights to appear at the Earth's poles. Such a spectacular view has been seen in the southern part of Canada. This type of light is rarely seen in this area. When this light was seen here, everyone was surprised.
People in some parts of the south in Canada have seen such light in the sky. This solar storm or say, a light storm has been seen in Canada on Sunday. Although these lights were not as spectacular as those seen at the North Pole. Scientists believe that this incident of solar storm can be a part of a surprising event. This spectacular sight has been named STEVE. The full form of which is Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement.
Two types of light appeared in the sky
A bright pink light appeared in the Canadian sky, which lasted for about an hour. The special thing about STEVE is that it flashes with green light several times. Scientists say that this sight is visible due to the charged particles in the atmosphere. However, its mechanism of action is not fully understood yet. These lights visible in the sky are divided into two parts. In which the first is called Air Glow and the second Aurora.
It is also suspected that they have plasma
Air glow can occur anywhere on Earth, while aurora appears as a large ring over Earth's poles. However STEVE is neither of these. This is because despite having the characteristics of aurora, this light is separated from the pole. What we do know about STEVE is that its purple haze is caused by ions moving at supersonic speeds in the atmosphere. Scientists are suspecting this unusual phenomenon at high altitude to be plasma.
