Self-reliant India: Cheap hydrogen will be made from sun and water, know the achievements of Indian scientists this week

 New Delhi. The first and most important step in achieving the goal of self-reliance is the discovery of new or improved indigenous technologies. The discovery of any new technology or method by the scientists of the country, which is capable of solving any problem of the country, helps a lot in making the country and the economy an edge over other countries and economies. This is the reason why the Government of India is constantly focusing on research and development along with the self-reliant campaign. Now the situation is such that almost every few days scientists are coming out with a new technology. Let's take a look at the achievements of Indian scientists that came out this week.

Light and water will make cheap hydrogen

According to the information given by the Department of Science and Technology, a team of scientists has for the first time developed a large-scale reactor that can produce sufficient amount of hydrogen using sources like sunlight and water. There is no shortage of sunlight and water in India. In such a situation, it is expected that this technology will prove to be very helpful in getting clean energy in the coming times. In fact, India has set a target of 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030, for which the government is focusing on new measures that will help it achieve this goal. The reactor has been designed by Dr. Kamalkannan Kalisam and his team from the Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali, an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The team has informed that using sunlight and water, this reactor can generate 6. Capable of producing 1 liter of hydrogen. The team has applied for its patent. According to the ministry's release, at present, the use of hydrogen obtained from this technology can be used for power generation through fuel cells in remote areas, hydrogen stoves and powering small gadgets. However, the main goal of the team is to power transformers and electric vehicles in the coming times with the help of such a reactor.  

Technology developed to make biogas from sludge from dairy industry

Scientists have found a technique to produce biogas from fat-rich sludge from the dairy industry. This technology was developed by Dr. Sandeep N. at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore. Mudaliar with the assistance of the Waste Management Technology Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. An application for the patent of the technology will be made soon. With this technology, the waste coming out of the industry can be managed better, while the industry will also be able to meet its energy needs.

What benefit will the industry get?
Government of India is taking the private sector along with it in almost all the schemes. The government helps in research, so that new technology is developed, later in their commercial production, the capacity of private sectors is used through technology transfer. With the increase in production, the country becomes self-sufficient in the field, while new opportunities also open up through exports. Employment opportunities are also available when mass production starts. From Corona crisis to many other ambitious schemes, the government has associated the private sector through technology transfer.
