Light and water will make cheap hydrogen
According to the information given by the Department of Science and Technology, a team of scientists has for the first time developed a large-scale reactor that can produce sufficient amount of hydrogen using sources like sunlight and water. There is no shortage of sunlight and water in India. In such a situation, it is expected that this technology will prove to be very helpful in getting clean energy in the coming times. In fact, India has set a target of 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030, for which the government is focusing on new measures that will help it achieve this goal. The reactor has been designed by Dr. Kamalkannan Kalisam and his team from the Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali, an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The team has informed that using sunlight and water, this reactor can generate 6. Capable of producing 1 liter of hydrogen. The team has applied for its patent. According to the ministry's release, at present, the use of hydrogen obtained from this technology can be used for power generation through fuel cells in remote areas, hydrogen stoves and powering small gadgets. However, the main goal of the team is to power transformers and electric vehicles in the coming times with the help of such a reactor.
Technology developed to make biogas from sludge from dairy industry
Scientists have found a technique to produce biogas from fat-rich sludge from the dairy industry. This technology was developed by Dr. Sandeep N. at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore. Mudaliar with the assistance of the Waste Management Technology Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. An application for the patent of the technology will be made soon. With this technology, the waste coming out of the industry can be managed better, while the industry will also be able to meet its energy needs.

The government helps in research, so that new technology is developed, later in their commercial production, the capacity of private sectors is used through technology transfer.
